Welcome from Wye Valley Runners
We are a well established friendly running club lucky enough to be based in central Hereford at the Greyhound Rugby Club on Grandstand Road.
Training evenings are Monday and Wednesday from the Rugby Club at 6.10pm - ready to run at 6.15pm.
There is changing and showers at the club house - your membership gives you access to all the Rugby Club's great facilities.
We welcome runners of all abilities. At our training evenings you can usually choose to join a session with a coach, go for a club run with a group for around 6 miles or even go off road - the choice is yours. We try to post our training programme on the club website.
We organise a series of races including the Muddy Woody, Gord’s 6 and a couple of cross country races. We take part in the summer and winter cross country series and our members get involved in all sorts of racing including fell, ultra, mountain and road - you are very welcome to get involved. All members are asked to help out at one of our club races - but don't worry it's fun and you won't be left alone.
Club members come from all over Herefordshire and across the border in to Wales. We are open to all ages over 18. We have a great mix of people in the club: young, old, fast, slow and everything in between!
We work closely with our friends in other running clubs and with the local triathlon club. Our aim is simply to get the most out of our sport - socialy and competitively.
Membership fee is £25 a year which gives you social access to the Rugby Club and a UK Athletics licence to race.
If you decide to join us you automatically consent to our Code of Conduct. Here it is. The code is common sense stuff but we want everyone to be clear before they join.
We understand that joining a club for the first time can be a bit daunting.
Please don't worry - we all went through it! We are a friendly and relaxed club and will do our best to make you feel welcome.
