Croft Castle Cross Country Results

178 runners from all over the county and beyond packed out the second race in the winter series at Croft Castle this morning.

Over the classic tough course Tim Davis from Maldwyn Harriers stormed home in an incredible 46.40 in the men's race and Heulwen Gilbert of Ludlow only pipped Laura Tootel to pole position by 39 seconds - well done Laura!

Steven Flowers continues to take huge chunks off his PBs with a great time of 55.25 finishing in 9th place to finish 2 minutes ahead of Jeremy with Rob taking third.

Laura's pace meant she was almost 4 minutes ahead of her team mates Alex and an improving Danca.

We continue to turn up in great numbers - with 23 men and 13 women ensuring the Wye Valley colours were strong today. CLICK HERE FOR RESULTS. Next up, Dinedor on Dec 7th

Message from Sheridan and Dale

Well done Wye Valley Runners I am so sorry Dale and I missed the presentation you all have done an amazing job I know Marches will use the money raised to support a lot of families locally I hope you all get to see the smiles on the children's faces when they access Marches activities I know first hand how much families depend on Marches support. I am so pleased to see you all looking so well. Miss you all x

Message from Marches Family Network

Just wanted to say thank you on behalf of Marches Family Network ( March Mfn Iss ) for the amazing fundraising effort, friendship and support Wye Valley Runners have given us this year. £3,700 has been raised for our local charity supporting children with special needs and their families in Herefordshire and Shropshire which is a fantastic amount. THANK YOU for the cake baking (Anthony) flapjack (Sarah) making not to mention the running! Particularly thanks to Mike who has b...een our main point of contact and a friend and supporter of our work. Thanks also to Tom's mum and family for their kind donation too. I met them at Breinton race in September and the essence of Tom shone through his family and friends that day. Something I will always remember. The very best of luck with your new charity Air Ambulance for 2015. What a year 2014 has been for us culminating with Christopher Walden running the New York Marathon at the weekend in aid of our charity. Im sure we all wish him the best of luck x

Please also note the car parking charges imposed by the National Trust. Car sharing makes sense. Meet at Rowing Club at 9.00 to share lifts

This year will be the 30th year that this race has been held over the same course at this historic venue and, to commemorate this special occasion, there will be a ceremonial tree planting ceremony on the traditional start line prior to the start of the race. Hopefully, the weather will be kind to us so that we can also observe the time-honoured minute’s silence on Remembrance Sunday without inconveniencing the runners
