Ufton Court - Sunday December 1st


Thanks to our pals in Hereford Tri Club for organising the next event in the Herefordshire Winter Cross Country League. Full details below.Those who attended the practice will be aware a surprise or two awaits.....

Course Description - The course is one 6.25 mile lap and is entirely on private farmland. It is undulating and follows the headlands around the edge of farmed fields.  There's a mixture of grass, dirt and mud surfaces plus stream crossings and a small section of track.  The course is NOT suitable for road shoes.  It will be marked with signs and yellow triangles and marshalled at the major crossings

London Marathon Draw

We have 3 club places for the London Marathon and the draw will take place on Monday 2nd Dec in the Hereford Rowing Club bar at 7.30pm.

 In order to be eligible for a club place you must provide an official rejection slip and have been a club member for a minimum of 12 months. If you are unable to attend the club draw you must nominate a person to represent you at the draw.

First Torchlight Run of the Winter

 

The first torchlight run will be on Wed 20th November and run over the 10k course. You must bring a torch and wear a hi-vis jacket or vest.

The run will start from the rowing club at 6.15. 
There will be the usual club run for those that prefer to run in street light.
The second torchlight run will be run over the 5 mile Great Western Way cycle path course at a date to be confirmed in Dec.

Croft Cross Country Results

A bright sunny morning at Croft Castle with some great individual results and an improving team position. Wye Valley women's team now in 3rd place and the men in 2nd . Overall Wye Valley move up to second place - only 3 points behind Couriers
Kathryn King dominated the womens race with over in minute in hand to Croft Ambreys Sue Davies.Daneen Hughes and Becky Davies followed swiftly behind
John Pullen led for the men in his now traditional 3rd spot. Jim Masters and Dan King followed John to head the mens pack.

Reminder - Croft Cross Country

Countdown to Croft Cross Country.
This Sunday November 10th 11.00 am.
Situated at Croft Castle and organised by our friends in Croft Ambrey.
Each lap is over a long established course of 2.2 miles - three laps for the men and one and a half laps for the women. Note the parking charge levied by the National Trust . To offset that and save the planet we will be sharing transport with a meet up in rowing club at 9.00am. Click here for a bit more detail

Mighty Oak and Alternative Run voting forms

The Mighty Oak award is given annually to one female and one male club member in recognition of anything that they may have achieved or done throughout the year i.e. returned from injury, raised a great amount for charity or been a great all round member of the club.
Voting is strictly restricted to members of Wye Valley Runners.
