Swansea Bay 10k- Latest News

We will not be making the usual stop at Sainbury's this year instead the coach will go directly to the Guildhall so that you can pick up your special edition race vests nice and early. Plenty of opportunities for snacks and toilets on the seafront.

Weather forecast currently looking real good for Sunday so a great day in prospect.
Ralph Lloyd will be organising the coach journey in my absence.
Hope to see you all before the start of the race.

Swansea Bay 10k Coach Timetable

Sunday 22nd September 2013

Ralph Lloyd has kindly volunteered to organise the coach trip this year as I will be staying in Port Einan.

1) Depart Hereford Rowing Club 8.30am prompt. If you are unable to come on the day please let us know so that we can avoid unnecesssary delays.

2) Stop at Sainsburys in Swansea for breakfast at approximately 10am. Although the race does not start until 1pm we need to leave by latest 10.40am so that we can secure our favoured parking position by the Guildhall. This spot places us within easy walking distance of the start/finish/showers and is much more convenient than the main car park. There is plenty of pre race activity so you will have lots to do.

3) Race starts at 1pm

4) Depart Guildhall for Port Talbot at 3pm. This will give you time to finish the race and have a shower. No-one will be left behind but out of courtesy to others please try to adhere to this timetable.

5) Arrive at Bar Gallois around 3.30pm. Meal Service will commence around 4pm.

6) Depart Port Talbot at 6pm.

AGM + 30th Anniv Night

We plan to start the AGM on Fri Nov 1st at 7pm. AGM will finish at 8.30pm so that we can move onto the 30th Anniv Celebrations. In order to ensure we have enough time to get through the order of business at the AGM there will be no formal break we will continue straight through to 8.30pm. Also we will not have the usual mighty oak and best alternative run voting these awards will be given at the Xmas Party. We will still present the Most Improved Runner and Super 8 awards at the AGM.

We still welcome any old photos that you may have which can be displayed at the Anniversary Night. Also we will have a special 30th Anniv celebration cake made by our very own Becky Davies.
More news will be posted when available.

Breinton 10 Mile : Thanks to All

We would like to thank all the runners for their participation and in particular those that travelled long distances. A very special thank you to the Hereford Rowing Club for use of their facilities and to the very many volunteers who turned out yet again to help on race day. It is very much appreciated by the club as it is impossible to organise a race without your assistance.

WVR Website editor(s) required

Evening everyone

I will shortly (October) be heading to pastures new, and will need to pass the updating of the website over to one, or more, interested parties.

Depending on the links, formating, etc. you decide to use for a post each item would take between 5-20 mins to upload. On top of this you would be required to answer mails submitted through the contact form on the website. The time to answer these is obviously dependent on the request but for standard answers you can use a template answer, so I'd estimate 2-10 mins per email.

For those with experience of websites, and who would be interested in maintaining the architecture, a more substantial period of time is required, but is once again dependent on requirements of the page. This would also depend on the software package you have to edit photos so they can be used on the webpages.

If you are interested in one or more of these jobs please could you send a message via the contact form on the 'Membership & Contacts' page.

Many Thanks

Alan
