Fforest Fields Cross Country Results

Pictured are the 37 club members who braved the crossing over the border to take on the  first race of the winter series. The large turnout from established club members and a great spread of  new runners ensured Wye Valley grabbed victory in the women's and men's race. Huge congratulations to Gintare Gaigaliene for taking the winning slot in the women's race with Daneen Hughes, Becky Davies and Jo Merry ensuring WVR victory. In the men's Tim Davies of Maldwyn continues to utterly dominate the front but WVR strength in the leading pack ensured team victory. Christian Jones led for us stalked by Jeremy Jehan with fast improving Liam Grice just 20 seconds  ahead of Mike Fawcett. A fab start to the season - Croft Castle next - standby! Full results here. Our thanks Mike Blenkinsop and Builth Club for their hard work and hospitality

Be Safe - Be Seen!

From now till the nights begin to get lighter please make sure you are wearing some Hi Visibility gear if you plan to run with the club on Monday's or Wednesday's. Some clubs impose a " no hi vis - no run" rule - we don't plan to do that as we know everyone will respond - so please dig out the hi vis- if you don't have any you can buy online very cheap or pop in to Club Sports in town.

Super Ten - final results!

The results are in - thank you to Steven Flowers for setting up the new database and doing all the hard work crunching the numbers.

It has been a busy summer with some fantastic running by new members and old.

In the women's competition the winners are:

Gintare Gaigaliene in first place , four points ahead of Danca Machackova. Maria takes up third place with  Maria, Jan, Becky and Sian all running ten or more races to be fully eligible in the competition. Congratulations to them all.

In the mens race Steven Flowers is first with a commanding lead of 45 points. Ian Whistance powered through the season to finish second with Paul Davies breathing down his neck having raced all 16 races!

Race Secretary

As you are probably aware I am stepping down from the club at the AGM in November as it is difficult to describe how it difficult it is to continue in my current non running capacity. One day using Arnie's words 'I will be back'.

Is anyone interested in taking on the role of race secretary for Wye Valley Runners? The role involves applying for race licences, and securing approval from Police, Highways and Hereford SAG to hold events. I will be more than happy to help and train whoever would like to do the job . I have set-up templates for most of the races which I am more than happy to share.

Many Thanks,

Mike Shaw
