BREINTON 10 MILE ROAD RACE

This years race will be run on Sunday 7th September 2014 at 11am, start and finish at Hereford Rowing Club

This race was introduced to the Herefordshire running calendar in 2012 principally to give local runners an opportunity to race over the classic distance of 10 miles. The course starts and finishes at Hereford Rowing Club and can best be described as undulating and is mainly run on rural roads around the apple orchards of Breinton village.

...

The course record is held by Rhys Park of Cheltenham Harriers who won the 2013 race in a time of 54.07. Rebecca Davies of Wye Valley Runners holds the ladies course record with a time of 68.57.

The race also hosts the Herefordshire 10 Mile County Championships.

The race winners receive a hand carved apple shaped trophy made by club chairman Harry Franklin. Winners of the County Championship will receive the County Championship Cup.

Tom Pugsley Memorial U-21 Trophies awarded to first male and female finishers in this age category. In the absence of a U-21 finisher the trophy will be awarded to the youngest finisher.

The Ross Jones Memorial Shield will this year be awarded to the first male veteran finisher in the 40 and over category.

All finishers will receive a glass tot with running apple design.

Entry forms are available to download or you can enter on line at www.entrycentral.com

Category prize winners will receive cider and drinks packs donated by race award sponsors Hi Town Taxis.
