Yes we know it's only July but thoughts are turning to next years T-Shirt design. It seems after 18 years the old design as 'run its course' pardon the pun admittedly in all the colours of the rainbow.Yes this will bring a tear to the eye of our more sentimental members including John Holdroyd. . Orange was my favourite as it really stood out just a pity it attracted stinging insects.
Next year we are moving to Technical T- Shirts and suggestions are requested from club members for a badge design so a chance for our budding artists to shine. The 2015 design will be selected at the AGM.

An optional 5k training run on Wednesday 30th July now cancelled to enable everyone to take part in Phil Butlers alternative run - confused? There were orgionally two runs planned the same night - now there is only one - the one Phil Butler is organising from Belmont. If that's as clear as mud just ask Paul or Phil. thanks
Only 3 races to go. A record turnout at Westhope Cross Country (44 WVR!) brought some new names to the Super 8 league table. King and Queen stay in place for now - but can Steve and Laura maintain their lead?
Next up Shobdon - latest rankings here

Next up Shobdon - the last in the wonderful Summer Season of Cross Country. The Shobdon course is an old classic - two laps - parts of it across the lanowners lawn. Please don't tap a postcode in to your Satnav - it will take you to a dead end and you will miss the start!

The track county champs. dates are :
Congratulation to Sian and Tony Champken for completing the Reykjavik Half Marathon in 2.07.
Sian tells us" It was lots of fun, but strange finishing at midnight in the sunshine. The bottom picture was taken at midnight!
Both are back in the UK chomping at the bit for the next Cross Country race

All aboard for the next race in the Herefordshire Summer Cross Country League. Wednesday 9th July 7.15 pm at Westhope. All welcome - a lovely 5 (ish) one circuit route courtesy of Hereford Couriers. Meet at 6 in Rowing Club Car Park to share lifts. Details on the quaint map below!

The race incorporating the County Championships provides a rare opportunity to race over the classic 10 mile distance. Tot glasses will once again be awarded to all finishers with new 2014 apple logo. Age category prizes sponsored by High Town Taxis. Tom Pugsley memorial trophies will be awarded to male and female winners in the U-21 category.
All race details are posted in the events section of the Wye Valley Runners web-site.

Gord's 6 2014 will be run on a Sunday morning rather that Saturday evening. The race venue was switched to Fownhope last year and this is undoubtedy one of the most scenic courses in the country taking in meadows, riverbank and woodland trails around Caplor Hill Fort. The usual glorious selection of tea and tasty cakes will be available at the finish. All the money raised goes to local charities, this year Marches Family Network.
Entry forms and on-line entrycentral links are available on the club web site.
