Wye Valley Runners move to on line race entry!

Wye Valley Runners are  to make their move in to the digital age. Entries will soon be open for the Wye Valley 10k, Gords 6 and the Breinton 10 mile with an on line entry option. For the cost of a stamp runners can access the straightforward on line system and have their entry confirmed immediately. Those who prefer postal entry will of course be able to continue in that time honoured fashion.

Super 8 Summer Series

With all the excitement of the Muddy Woody behind us thoughts are turning to the Super 8 Summer Series. Based on our initial consultation with club members a number expressed the view that it should be based on cumulative scores over the 13 races not the best 8. Also we are proposing to include Race the Bells in the 13 race series. This years selected races 1st Couriers 5k race, Race the Bells,, Shobdon Hill, WVR Summer 10k, Hereford Half, Crocodile 8, Magic Roundabout, All 4 Summer League XC Races, Gord's 6 and Breinton 10. Your opinions appreciated final decision to be taken at the next committee meeting.

Muddy Woody 6 ;Thanks to you All

Wye Valley Runners wish to thank all the runners, helpers, marshals, local residents and race sponsors Wye Valley Brewery for their great support on Sunday. Also the course preparation team for their great work on Saturday. It takes an immense effort by lots of volunteers to put on a race like this in a remote location in very difficult circumstances. We were rewarded with lots of Sunshine and some great performances. We have received great feedback from the runners and wish to thank you all.

Muddy Woody 6 Race is ON Tomorrow

We are very pleased to announce that the race is definitely ON tomorrow.. Please remember to allow plenty of time for travelling and parking due to conditions. If you are travelling from Hereford please use the Dormington to Mordiford road which is clear of surface water. Parking will be along forest track as in previous years, the common is water logged and is to be avoided if possible. Tomorrow's forecast is for a dry race . The course will certainly live up to it's name this year and we wish you all a good race. Many thanks for your support.

Muddy Woody Presentations

All being well race awards and trophy presentations will be made between 12.30/12.45pm. This is a very busy race with groups of runners crossing the finish line together. Please help the finish line marshals ensure you get an accurate result by displaying your race number as you cross the finish line. Please do not pass through the finish line funnel a second time..

Muddy Woody News

Yes the weather gods are giving us lots of headaches right now but the race is still on for Sunday. Whilst heavy rain is forecast for Friday the situation is set to improve Saturday with a few light showers and believe it or not we may even see the SUN (HOORAY) on Sunday. Please be advised it will be better to take the Dormington road to Haugh Woods although likely some surface water there too.. Please park on the firm forest track as directed by our parking marshals. Please be advised that the common is water logged so should be avoided if possible. Please try to arrive as early as possible as you may be parked some way from the registration area. We will continue to post updates during the week as we receive additional information.
Have a great race everyone.
