A strong turn out from the club today paid off handsomely with the men's team taking first place to keep them right in contention to have a go at winning the championship with only one race to go. For the team results click here
Some strong performance from the women- Kathryn King coming home second in a fast time of 50.55. A gap then to a second Wye Valley runner Daneen Hughes in just over 57 minutes with Becky Davies, Christie Jones, Nikki Tyler and Kate Burgoyne breathing down her neck. For women's result click here.
In the men's, James Richards pipped at the post to come in a very strong second at Concord pace in 41.46. John Pullen in 4th at 43.49 closely followed by Jim Masters at 44.59 enabling Wye Valley to clinch the men's team prize . For men's results click here
A great new course organised by Paul and Mervyn with a large hardy team of marshals, officials and tea help - our thanks to them all for a great day.
Final race of the series on Sunday 2nd feb at Presteigne
A photo image of Sunday's course. About 6.2 miles - new and improved!
Please don't practice on the course other than at the event as most of the course is on private land. Thanks and enjoy.

We are hosting the next Herefordshire Cross Country league race which takes place at Monkhall Farm, near Dewsall Court HR2 8DA this Sunday 12th January at 11.00
A new course of about 6.2 miles - slightly less than last year.
This map of last years course gives you an idea of the challenge ahead. This years course is similar but different - we have cut a bit off the second lap - but then added a bit on at the end for luck It will make sense on the day!
The race success depends on a good turnout of marshals - we need about 15 volunteers. Please contact Paul Bouston via Facebook Messenger or at the club if you can help.
We are a small group of Wye Valley Runners 12/15 so for, going to run the Gloucester 20 mile road race on Sunday 16th March 2014.If any other Wye Valley Runners wish to train with us or want to join us in the Gloucester 20.Training starts on Wednesday 8th January 6.15pm, from the Rowing Club, distance 7/8 miles, building up to 15 miles at the end of February/start of March, meeting on Club nights and some Sunday mornings.
If we can raise a small amount of money Individually say £50.00 each, as a group we can raise a decent amount for Marches family network.
Many thanks Ralph

Judge Megan (Malvern Joggers) and Rebecca Davies (Wye Valley Runners) finished 2nd and 3rd in the ladies race.
Wye Valley Runners secured the men's and ladies team prizes, winning men were Jimmy Richards, Greg Wood and Daniel King, winning ladies were Kathryn King, Rebecca Davies and Laura Tootell.
A detailed race report will be submitted to the Hereford Times and just a reminder that you will find more than 100 race and presentation photos on the flickr link on front page of our web site.
Wye Valley Runners wish to say a thank you to all the runners, spectators and marshals that braved the pretty dreadful conditions yesterday, incredibly there were 186 finishers. It must have been the worst weather that the race as seen in the 30 years of the event with heavy rain and surface water providing a challenge for everyone involved. We must say a massive thank you to all the marshals and helpers who stayed out in the heavy rain for hours yesterday from car parking to course marshals, from finish line crew to results team. Also great work from our refreshments team and Sarah's flapjack sales raised £50 for Marches Family Network. Without your help there would be no race.
Thanks again,
Wye Valley Runners
