This is intended to add variation to the Summer running program and should be a fun evening, providing an opportunity to lead our elite club runners over the finish line.
More details will be issued in early May.

Winter Handicap Series

Just a reminder that there are just two races left in the Frosty 5 Winter Handicap series the Eastnor 7 and Shobdon 6. Mike Fawcett, John Pullen, Adam Michmiok, Stephen Flowers and Paddy Nugent lead the way in the mens race. Jane Rowlands, Kathryn King, Sandrine Gorien, Becki Ansfield and Gillian Bamber are the pace setters in the womens race.
There will be boxed gold, silver and bronze medals for first three men and ladies which will be presented at the Summer 10k.
Many thanks to Alan Lewis for all his hard work on this series, our first foray into handicap races, as it presented a formidable spreadsheet challenge.

kathryn King- Inter Counties XC

Kathryn King emailed 'It was an honour to run with some of the best runners in the country and take part in such a great event. Apparently it was the first time we’ve had a women’s team representing Herefordshire at this event – let’s hope it’s the first of many more to come. The whole team ran really well and gave their all in what were very tough, muddy conditions. It was really good to be on a team with ladies from other clubs who we usually run against in the Hereford league…great team spirit. I wonder if any of us were spotted on Sky Sports 3?!!'

Note a few  changes have been made from last year:

1)      Number of qualifying races increased from 12 to 13 to allow as best we can for absences due to marshal duty or holidays.

2)      Maximum number of points allocated for each event increased from 25 to 50 because we had so many entering events last year that quite a number of runners ended up with 0 points in the more popular races which was scant reward for your efforts.

3)      A number of the selected races have changed: a)Shobdon 6 is no longer in the Summer Series because it is now part of the Winter Handicap Series, The first race only of the Couriers 5k Series is now included as is the Credenhill Canter.
