Muddy Woody 2015 - Runners final briefing

  • Please note that if you don't already have a place in the race and are thinking of travelling on the day in the hope of picking up a spare entry, there will not be any extra places available. We have made an allowance for non-runners when setting the entry limit and won't therefore be able to transfer their number to anyone else.
  • A map showing the location of the event is here
  • The race will start prompt at 11.00 AM.
  • We recommend that runners aim to arrive by 10.15 in order to allow time to park and register.
  • Please don't use the public parking areas but follow the directions of the car park marshals. Please note that the gates to the parking area will be locked at 2.00 PM and all vehicles will therefore need to have been moved by that time.
  • Please note that we have a new registration area. This is just past the entrance to the wood, 200 yards towards Broadmoor Common. We will be based in the yard on the left near the barns.
  • Collection of race numbers will be alphabetic by surname. Please go to the appropriate table according to your name.
  • Free post-race refreshments and prize giving will also be based at the registration area. We hope to make the presentations at 12.45 but please be patient with the hard-working results team.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Relight Gary Barlow's Fire ! Wednesday 11th Feb just before club run!

Karen Messer is undertaking a project for St Michael's Hospice. She is trying to get Gary Barlow to attend a future St Michael's Fundraiser.

She's creating a fun 'pop video' style film where groups in Herefordshire mime along to the pop song 'Relight My Fire.' She will soon be filming fire fighters, St Michael Hospice nurses, a roller skating group and more . The key to the video's success is involving as many local people as possible and those people being diverse in ability, skill and age. Once finished, the video will be tweeted and put on Facebook.

Now its Wye Valley Runners turn!  TURN UP AT 6PM  ON Wednesday 11TH FEB JUST BEFORE WE RUN AND MIME A FEW LINES TO "RELIGHT MY FIRE" - WE WILL BE DONE BY RUN TIME!
It's a very odd request but it is a lot of fun and will turn into quite a lovely community project!

Herefordshire League Winter Cross Country Final Results

Congratulations to everyone who took part in this years winter league. The season started and finished in Powys - both marked by challenging and beautiful courses. Wye Valley did the league proud at Monkhall with a new course already being hailed a classic! Whilst the club were at times missing some of their more elite runners - particularly in the men's team - this was more than made up for by some great individual performances. The highlight of the season was a  gold medal for the women's team who won the overall league title by one point- well done to them all.

This was Paul Boustons last year as Captain. It is a real tribute to him that in race after race Wye Valley Runners were consistently the most represented club in the league - nice one Paul. What a great legacy.

Our thanks as ever to all the volunteers, landowners and marshals. Specific thanks to Mike Blenkinsop, Tony Williams and Clive Rowberry - we really appreciate your hard work.

Category Winners:

Harry Franklin - winner MV75

Brian Symonds - winner MV70

Louise Ainger - winner FV35

Alex Champ - winner FV 40

Jan Edwards - winner FV55
