IMPORTANT CHANGE TO START TIME for PRESTEIGNE XC RACE

Due to the shortening of the Men’s course, because of forestry work, at Sunday’s Presteigne XC race it will be necessary to alter the start time for the women’s race.

The Women’s race will now start at 10.45 a.m. and the Men’s race at 11.00 a.m.

This is necessary so that the 2 sets of race results can be kept as separate as possible. If this were not the case, it would take much longer to work out the series results and award winners. This, in turn, would mean that you  would be kept waiting for much longer at the presentation venue.

Hopefully, this will also avoid the bottle neck where the runners first turn left to start climbing into the woods and the female runners should be clear of the narrow section before the leading men approach that point.

Apologies for the short notice. We hope that this does not cause any inconvenience .

Hopefully, the arrival of snow will not put a further spanner in the works !

Thanks for your co-operation.

New Wye Valley Runners Web page

We are in the process of rebuilding our club website over the next few weeks. It would be great to get an idea of the things that club members would like to see on the refreshed site. What  information do you want easy access to? What do you want to see more of or less of? Let us know and we will try and incorporate as many club members ideas as possible.Your ideas do not need to be technical at all! Thank you

Monkhall Cross Country Results

Click here for full results from this mornings race. Thanks to Paul and Mervyn for sorting out the challenging and popular new course.

The weather God's were on our side again today - with a blustery wind in the hills but plenty of shelter on most of the course. Great turnout from the WVR team today - with 21 lads and 13 lasses making up almost a quarter of the 143 strong field

The women's team stormed home again to take the team prize - well done to Nicki, Laura and Claire for leading the field. An impressive performance with Danca and Maria chasing their tails. In the men's race their is no stopping Tim Davies of Maldwyn who had time to get home and cook lunch before the second man crossed the line. His time of 37.57 makes it look like he was in another race. Congrats to him.

An improving Steven finished as first WVR man in 6th place in 42.20.  Jeremy and Rob made up the first three men but Steven managed to get a good clear two minutes between himself and fell race heavy legged Jeremy.

Great team event with great support from non running club members - thanks to them all - and did anyone see what happened to Mike Fawcett - he started - is he still out there?
