MW6 2012; More Feedback

‘I was not quite sure what to expect as I stood on the MW6 start line with 300 others, but I do know that I was grateful for the tip from Les to “get to halfway with plenty in the tank”. The hills on the inward half had to be experienced to be believed.  I was certainly glad that I had put in a good slug of hill training over the previous 2 months!  No hilly road race will ever seem difficult again….

I am quite sure that the Muddy Woody is unique – thigh-burningly tough, normally very muddy (although it was more rutted ice this year than mud for the most part), but in very traditional cross-country terrain: none of your poncy parkland here!  It was also very friendly – before, during and after the race – with lots of much-needed support, even in the depths of the wood, a great general atmosphere and much need tea and doughnuts at the end. I can understand why the race is so popular and why my Dad liked it so much.  I’d like to think that the Muddy Woody will become a regular part of my running calendar now too and I am very proud of my MW6 T-shirt: I feel that I truly earned it.

Finally, congratulations again to Alex on her great run, more than 9 minutes ahead of me, and I hope that she enjoys having the cup for the coming year.’

‘Thanks again WVR for a brilliant Muddy Woody event. Great course, great organisation, great t-shirt and great donut. What more could be asked for?’ Stuart Moore
