The date for the 2017 race is provisionally confirmed as Sunday 12th Feb subject to Forestry Commission approval. Entries will open at 9.00 am on December 1st. Watch out for details as last year we sold out in just over 24 hours.

Eliot Secures Third Muddy Woody Victory
Eliot Taylor of Hereford Couriers secured a convincing victory in the 20th running of the Muddy Woody 6. This was Eliot’s third victory in the event in the last five years and he finished well ahead of the field in a time of 43.05 .Mike Pfeiffer of Brecon AC had a superb run to secure second place in a time of 43.36. with last year’s winner Tim Iveson of Builth & District Runners finishing third in a time of 44.05.
Jessica Bennett of Lordshill Runners was a very convincing winner of the Ladies race leading from the start and was always extending her advantage finishing in a time of 52.05. Gintare Gaigalienne of Wye Valley Runners continued her sequence of good results to finish second in a time of 54.28. Laura Lelievre of Monross Trailblazers also had a fine run to finish third in a time of 56.02.
Hereford Couriers took the men’s team award, winning men were Eliot Taylor, Matt James and Tim Taylor. Wye Valley Runners took the ladies team award, winning ladies were Gintare Gaigalienne, Daneen Hughes and Rebecca Davies
The Wye Valley Runners shield was won for second year running by Steven Flowers and the Jim Gray trophy was awarded to Jan Edwards.
The race was run in near perfect cold but sunny conditions and there were a total of 291 finishers. The redesigned course was particularly challenging but nonetheless very well received with very positive feedback from the runners.
Wye Valley Runners allocated £2 of each race entry to Longtown Mountain Rescue.
