Organised by Wye Valley Runners - A  Charity Race in Celebration of Gordon Clements

Around Caplor Hill Ancient Hill fort. Course map here

Start and finish at Fownhope recreation Park

6 miles south east of Hereford

Approx 6 miles along grass and woodland

The Gords event celebrates the life of Gordon Clements, who was a founder member of the Wye Valley Runners.

An exceptional runner, Gordon posted times of 32.39 for a 10K, and 1:14 over the half marathon distance. Unfortunately,

8 years ago he died of lung cancer. Paul Bouston had been best friends with Gordon's son at school, and subsequently a close friend Gordon himself.

With his death Paul felt a race in his memory, with all proceeds going to a local charity, would be the most fitting way of honouring Gordon.

Previously the race took place near Swainshill, but now has moved to a new location and will be around the ancient hill fort of Caplor Hill near Fownhope.

Beginning at 11am on, competitors will experience a testing, multi terrain course on what will hopefully, be a balmy summes day.

Those who have run in the event before know that it is a special event, which in2015 will support Midland Air Ambulance

So, if you find yourself at a loose end why not come along with a few friends and enjoy a friendly, well organised event that takes in some of Herefordshire's picturesque countryside.

We look forward to seeing you on the day!
