SUMMER 10K – 2010 Results

Well done to all the runners who took part in the summer 10K with some impressive performances despite the warm weather.

Thanks also to the numerous Wye Valley members who helped with the race organisation and Wenlock Spring Water who provided the much needed liquid refreshment at the finish.

We hope to see you all again on 1 January 2011 for the New Year’s Day 10K which uses the same route, but with a clockwise circuit of the middle section.

Wye Valley Runners – Summer 2010

Hi Folks

There is lots going on during the next few months, so please read on ………..

Summer 10K

Our Summer 10K takes place on Sunday 20 June, starting at 11.00 AM.

We hope that plenty of you will take part but, importantly, we also need plenty of helpers on the day. If you are able to act as a marshal, or help in some other way then please report for duty at the Rowing Club no later than 10.00 AM.

Alternative club run

On Monday 21 June you are all invited for a run in Aconbury Woods. We will be meeting at Aconbury Court Farm HR2 6PQ at 6.00 PM for a 6.15 start and the run will be suitable for all abilities. If you can’t get to Aconbury then feel free to run from the Rowing Club as usual.

All races start at 7.30 and you need to wear club colours (vest or t-shirt ) if you take part.

Gord’s 6 – Saturday 10 July

This is a multi-terrain race in memory of Wye Valley founder member, Gordon Clements.

The race starts at 6.30 PM from Morgan Jones Farm at Sugwas, HR4 7PS. As with our 10K, come along and run or help with the organisation if you can spare the time.

Club badge

We would like a new club badge that we can use on club kit and other Wye Valley items. If you can produce a simple design to represent the club then please give it to a committee member before 12 July so that we can vote on the best design.

World Cup

This Friday, 18 June, England will be playing Algeria, kicking off at 7.30 PM. A group of us have decided to have a short run from the Rowing Club at 6.15 and will then be watching the game in the bar. We hope to have some food available for the half-time interval. Come along if you want to join us in supporting our boys in South Africa.
